MD Nurul Hasan, the vice president of the Millbourne Borough Council, along with co-conspirators MD Munsur Ali and MD Rafikul Islam, was charged by the U.S. Department of Justice in a voter fraud scheme in Millbourne. Hasan pleaded guilty to 33 charges: one count of conspiracy, 16 counts of giving false information in registering to vote, and 16 counts of fraudulent voter registration. He attempted to steal the 2021 Mayoral election by obtaining the personal identification of nearly three dozen non-Millbourne residents, changing their voter registration to be within Millbourne, requesting absentee ballots in their names, and fraudulently casting the absentee ballots by forging the voters’ signatures to elect himself as mayor. He was sentenced to 36 months in prison, one year of supervised release, and $3,300 in fines.
